Heavenly Father,
As we enter into a new year, let us not dwell on the challenging moments of 2023. Instead, let us stop and give thanks for what You have brought us through. Let us stop and give thanks for waking up this morning with breath in our lungs, and the ability to rise and face the day! Lord, we do not want to take for granted all of the things that you have done for us and continue to do for us. We don’t want to be so self-absorbed that we miss moments with family and friends. We don’t want to miss out on our best living because our focus is on the wrong things: materialism, money, status, prestige, and reputation. We want to do our best living in obedience to you.
As we walk into the new year, let us shed old things that don’t make an impact in our lives, those things that tempt us to not be our best selves. May we be filled with joy and hopeful anticipation for the things to come. Let us give intentionally of our time and hearts to others. May our desire be to seek you more and be a shining light.
May your 2024 be a year of love, joy, laughter, positivity, thankfulness, obedience, and prayer!
