See Me

(Tribute to National Women’s Month)

See me.

I am the warrior in battle.

I am the glue that holds the family together.

I am the giver of life.

I am the multitasker.

I make something out of nothing.

I sacrifice to the detriment of myself.

I stand as a symbol of hope and courage

For a legacy greater than my own.

I am the voice that cries in the night.

I am the sound of joy in a sometimes quiet world.

I am music in the midst of celebration and chaos.

I am the one who stands for my voice to be heard.

I am the answer to the unknown.

I am a thinker.

I am a problem solver.

I am sometimes a silent entity.

I am the voice of the people.

And the reckoner of wrongdoings.

I am the voice in the dark that invades the subconscious.

I am the strength under weary wings.

I am the arms that carry tirelessly.

I am beauty personified.

I am the ambassador for peace and civility.

I am the hand-holder in death

  and the shoulder that upholds.

I am a flame that burns brightly.

I am the beam of support that propels success.

I am the game-changer and the champion in challenges.

I am a muse to dry ink wells and the encourager of craft.

I am the source of extended grace.

I am the difference-maker and a life ingredient.

I am the imprint of memories.

I am the transferer of traditions to future generations.

I am a forward thinker and nurturer of minds and souls.

I am a force to be recognized.

I am present.

I am a woman.

See me.
