No matter what lies ahead, no matter where you are in life, no matter what your socio-economic status may be, no matter how old you are, and no matter how long you have been a follower of Christ, others need to see Christ in you and your actions. They need to see the Holy Sprit at work in you. 1 Timothy 4:12 says, “Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.”
Believers,
In this day and time when things aren’t what they seem
I asked the Lord to help me, and tell me what it means
To be a believer
To have faith in your word
To be a believer
And know that I am heard
When others point and laugh and persecute my faith
I persevere in reverence because I know my place
As a believer
I put my trust in you
Cause you are my Savior
You help me through and through.
Foolish quarrels and argument about God’s words of law
With those who are misguided, divisive from the start
If they were believers
They’d bow down, confess their sins
If they were believers
Their hearts would let you in.
Upon this solid rock, I gladly take my stand
And build a strong foundation within a troubled land
