On This Day Lord

On this day Lord, I come before your table.

On this day Lord, I come before you in sin.

On this day Lord, you promised that you’d make me one within.

On this day Lord, I come before your table.

On this day Lord, I come with a humble heart

For forgiveness, to cleanse my soul of sin,

For the body is the bread, the wine your precious blood

That on this day Lord, I come before your table.

I’m not worthy to receive your gift of grace

That you would die so that I might be saved

In remembrance of the Lamb who is the Great I Am

That on this day Lord, I come before your table.

I’m reminded of the price you paid for me.

For your sacrifice, they nailed you upon the cross

And with pierced and nail-scarred hands,

You forgave the sins of man

On this day Lord, I come before your table.

I bow down to receive thy holy word,

With an open heart and overwhelming faith

From the darkness into light,

I am set for freedom’s flight

On this day Lord, I come before your table.
