As we prepare for an unprecedented Easter and celebration of the resurrection of Christ, I am reminded of the importance of this day and its impact on my life. We get so caught up in life that we sometimes forget that we serve a God who loves us unconditionally no matter what we do, forgives us of our sins no matter how small or large, and extends grace beyond measure. Sometimes we grow stagnant in our spiritual life; our prayers are fewer; our quiet time almost becomes non-existent; we forget that we serve a Mighty God and not-self. It is during these times that the Lord clings to us in the midst of our unawareness. It is also the time that the enemy seeks dominion. Just as God has a message for us through His Word, the enemy seeks to communicate with us too. Here is what the enemy wants us to hear and believe:
If I were your enemy…..
I would seek to charm and insinuate myself into your life
Embracing you with a feeling of specialty and warmth, and offering a world without strife.
I would turn your greatest strengths into a mess of weaknesses
And render a feeling of hopelessness that never ceases.
If I were your enemy…..
I would paralyze and grip you in fear
Laughing and sneering and whispering in your ear
The lies women believe as they lose themselves in the battle
To dark forces whose sole purpose is to rattle
Who you are and to whom you belong
Never questioning if there is something wrong.
Yes, I know that Almighty God knows you well
But with great pride, so do I, and my goal is to never fail
For “I have come to steal, kill, and destroy”
Your marriage, your family, your relationships, most importantly your joy
“You see I have plotted and planned, and downright schemed,
To ease into your life when you are broken and where I can’t be seen.
In your passions, your past, your hurts, and in all of your fears
I offer you comfort in the choking salt of your tears.
I have invaded your emotions, thoughts, and every action you take
What a huge, successful kingdom of darkness I intend to create.
The hurt, the confusion, and the anger in which you live
Will turn you into a cold, bitter, entity unable to forgive.
Yes, I have ensnared you, and you belong to me
Through spiritual eyes, you can no longer see.
The truth as you knew it is so skewed in worldly eyes
That you can’t even see through my disguise.
If I were your enemy….
I’d sit back and watch you slowly not care
Dim your passion and focus and eliminate your prayer.
Steal your identity until there’s nothing left
Manipulate, and dominate so that you barely recognize yourself.
I’d go after the very people that make your heart tender
To your family and friends, chaos and disintegration I would render.
Just think of mistakes and poor choices from the past
The pangs of guilt, shame, and regret that will always last.
If I were your enemy…
There is one thing of which I am sure
You will never, ever feel whole, safe, and pure.
I’d sweep down in your loneliness and in times when you’re weak
Enticing you to pursue the false security you desperately seek
The busyness of life and the pressures you face
Will never give way to peace and contentment in this place.
If I were your enemy….
These are all of the lies that I would have you believe
For my purpose is to detonate a bomb, destroy, and deceive
To have ultimate dominion will be my greatest feat
I will never tell you the strategy that stands between me and defeat.
Signed,
The Enemy

Aren’t you glad that you know the Risen Savior so that you don’t have to succumb to the enemy’s lies? Luke 24:1-8 captures the momen
Now on the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they, []and certain other women with them, came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared. 2 But they found the stone rolled away from the tomb. 3 Then they went in and did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 And it happened, as they were [b]greatly perplexed about this, that behold, two men stood by them in shining garments. 5 Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the earth, they said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? 6He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee, 7 saying, ‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.’ ”
8 And they remembered His words.
Let us take time to remember who and whose we are and the great sacrifice that God has given to and for us.
